BYD India has officially announced pricing for the 2025 BYD Seal electric sedan, with ex-showroom prices starting at ₹41 lakh. The Premium and Performance variants are priced at ₹45.70 lakh and ₹53.15 lakh respectively, marking a slight increase compared to the previous year. These updated prices include the latest feature enhancements and are effective immediately. Customers can secure their bookings with a token amount of ₹1.25 lakh.
A major player in the electric vehicle (EV) space, BYD — a Chinese automotive giant — has been active in India for over five years, offering a range of both passenger and commercial electric vehicles.
2025 BYD Seal: Key Enhancements
The 2025 BYD Seal brings notable upgrades centered on improving comfort, technology, and driving dynamics. Standard across all variants are a powered sunshade, a silver-plated dimming canopy for a more premium interior ambiance, and a larger air-conditioning compressor integrated with an upgraded air purification system. Additionally, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now included as standard features.
Performance improvements are a highlight this year. The Premium variant now benefits from Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD), a feature previously reserved for the Performance model. Meanwhile, the Performance trim introduces BYD’s Disus-C intelligent damping system, which actively adjusts suspension settings thousands of times per second for superior comfort and stability.
The Seal continues to utilize BYD’s advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low-voltage battery, known for being six times lighter and offering five times better self-discharge performance compared to conventional batteries. Built for longevity, this battery is expected to last up to 15 years.
BYD Seal: Success Story in India
The BYD Seal has earned significant recognition, having won accolades such as the Times Network EV Sedan of the Year, the Best Battery Technology award, and the Autocar Premium EV of the Year. On the global stage, it was a finalist for the World Car of the Year award at the Geneva Motor Show and received the prestigious iF Design Award.
With the 2025 model, BYD India continues its strategy of customer-driven upgrades, focusing on enhancing ride comfort, cabin luxury, and smart connectivity, thereby delivering a more rewarding ownership experience.
A Solid Premium Electric Offering
Despite a modest price increase, the 2025 BYD Seal packs significant improvements that keep it highly competitive in the premium electric sedan segment.
When compared to rivals like the BMW iX1, the Seal offers better performance, a more luxurious cabin, and sleeker styling, all at a more accessible price point. For buyers seeking a stylish design, comfortable ride quality, thrilling performance, and low running costs, the 2025 BYD Seal emerges as a compelling, no-compromise choice.
