Updated Tata Altroz to Launch on May 21, 2025: 5 Key Changes Revealed
Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the updated Altroz on May 21, 2025. Originally introduced in early 2020, the Altroz was the brand’s first model based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform and holds the distinction of being India’s first hatchback to achieve a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating for adult occupant protection. This will mark the second major update for the premium hatchback, with mostly subtle changes expected inside and out. Here’s a look at the five key updates anticipated for the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift:
1. Fresh Exterior Styling
Spy shots suggest a significant redesign at the front, featuring sleeker LED headlamp elements, a revised bumper, and vertical accents near the fog lamps, lending the Altroz a sharper and more modern appearance. While the side profile will largely stay the same, newly designed alloy wheels will freshen up the look. The taillamps will also be updated with new LED signatures to match the refreshed front.
2. New Steering Wheel
The facelifted Altroz is expected to feature a new two-spoke steering wheel, similar to the one seen on the Tata Tiago and Tigor models.
3. Larger Infotainment System
Higher trims could see the introduction of a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity for an enhanced digital experience.
4. Ventilated Front Seats
Borrowing from the Altroz Racer variant, the 2025 Altroz facelift is likely to offer ventilated front seats, boosting comfort for front occupants.
5. Upgraded Cabin Materials
To further elevate the cabin’s premium feel, Tata Motors may introduce new seat upholstery options and updated door trims.
Engine and Gearbox: No Changes
Mechanically, the updated Altroz will remain unchanged. It will continue to be offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (producing 86bhp and 113Nm) and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine (generating 90bhp and 200Nm of torque). Both manual and DCT (dual-clutch transmission) options will be carried over. Additionally, the hatchback will also continue to be available with a CNG fuel variant.
