The newly launched BYD Sealion 7, a premium electric SUV from Chinese automotive giant BYD, has achieved a flawless 5-star safety rating in the rigorous Euro NCAP crash tests. Known for its stringent safety standards, Euro NCAP praised the Sealion 7 for its performance across various key safety metrics, including adult and child occupant protection, as well as pedestrian and cyclist safety.

According to Euro NCAP’s detailed assessment, the BYD Sealion 7 scored:

While the SUV earned high marks overall, the organization noted potential for improvement in the vehicle’s Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system.
The crash tests revealed the Sealion 7 provides excellent whiplash protection and earned maximum points in both frontal offset and side pole impact scenarios. Protection for the driver and front passenger was rated as strong, though rear passengers received comparatively weaker protection in the full-width rigid barrier test.
