Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Electric SUV to Launch in India by September 2025

Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that its first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, will be launched in India before the end of September 2025. During the company’s Q4 FY2025 earnings call, R.C. Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), revealed that the initial production run will focus largely on exports. Production of the e Vitara is set to commence within the next few months, with the first batches heading to key international markets. The company aims to manufacture around 70,000 units over the next 6-7 months.

Over 500 km Range Confirmed!

The Maruti e Vitara will be offered with two battery pack options — a 49kWh and a 61kWh unit — delivering a peak torque of 192.5Nm. The 49kWh battery will produce 143bhp, while the larger 61kWh variant will generate 173bhp. The higher-spec model will boast a MIDC-certified range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge, offering impressive practicality for daily use and long-distance travel.

Feature-Packed Interior

Inside, the e Vitara promises a premium experience with a free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include a fixed glass roof, Infinity by Harman sound system, wireless charging pad, a new two-spoke steering wheel, sliding and reclining rear seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and 7 airbags, among several other advanced features.

Vibrant Colour Options

The Maruti e Vitara will be available in 10 striking colour choices, including six monotone and four dual-tone schemes:

  • Monotone Colours: Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Opulent Red, and Arctic White.
  • Dual-Tone Colours:
    • Arctic White with Black Roof and A-B Pillars
    • Opulent Red with Black Roof and A-B Pillars
    • Land Breeze Green with Black Roof and A-B Pillars
    • Splendid Silver with Black Roof and A-B Pillars

Rivals and Expected Pricing

Upon launch, the Maruti e Vitara will take on competitors like the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and Mahindra BE 6. Pricing is expected to start at around ₹20 lakh for the base variant and could reach up to ₹30 lakh for the top-end version.
