Tata Nexon EV Achieves 5-Star Safety Rating in Bharat NCAP Crash Tests

The Tata Nexon EV has secured a 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), underscoring Tata Motors’ commitment to vehicle safety. Tested alongside the Punch EV, the Nexon EV demonstrated exceptional performance in both adult and child occupant protection assessments.​

Crash Test Performance

  • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): The Nexon EV scored 29.86 out of 32 points. In the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, it achieved 14.26 out of 16 points, and in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, it scored 15.60 out of 16 points. ​
  • Child Occupant Protection (COP): The vehicle attained a dynamic score of 23.95 out of 24, a perfect 12 out of 12 for Child Restraint System (CRS) installation, and 9 out of 13 for vehicle assessment, totaling 44.95 out of 49 points. ​

These results apply to both Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) variants of the Nexon EV.​

Safety Features

The Nexon EV comes equipped with several standard safety features, including:​

  • Six airbags​
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)​
  • Traction Control System​
  • Hill Hold Control​
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)​
