MG Majestor launch confirmed for India on 12 February

MG Motor India has confirmed that its new flagship SUV, the Majestor, will be launched in the country on 12 February. This will be the brand’s first product launch of the new year, following the recent introduction of a new colour option for the Cyberster. The Majestor was showcased to the Indian audience at the 2025 Auto Expo, giving a clear preview of what to expect.

Positioned above the MG Gloster in the company’s lineup, the Majestor will serve as a more premium and imposing offering. It is essentially a badge-engineered version of the Maxus D90, a full-size SUV that is already sold in several international markets. While it shares its platform with the Gloster, MG has worked on giving the Majestor a distinct identity.

On the outside, the Majestor features a revised design to set it apart. Key highlights include a new blacked-out front grille, vertically stacked headlamps, slim LED daytime running lights, updated skid plates, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets new LED tail lamps, dual exhaust tips, and a black insert placed above the LED light bar, adding to its bold road presence.

Under the hood, the Majestor is expected to use the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine seen on the Gloster. This motor produces 213bhp and 478Nm of torque and is likely to be paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a 4x4 system, making it suitable for both highway cruising and light off-road use.

Inside, MG is expected to offer a long list of features. These could include a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, three-zone climate control, and Level 2 ADAS. More details, including pricing and variant options, will be revealed at launch.
