Yamaha XSR155 Launched in India at Rs 1.50 Lakh – Price, Specs, and Details

Yamaha just rolled out the XSR155 in India, pricing it at Rs. 1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new model drops right into Yamaha’s modern-retro lineup, sitting below the XSR700 and XSR900 globally. It’s a bike that blends classic looks with the solid MT-15 platform underneath, perfect for riders who want something practical for daily use but still love that vintage vibe.

Take a look at it and you’ll spot the retro inspiration right away – round LED headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, no-fuss LCD digital console. The riding posture is upright and relaxed, so it works just as well for city traffic as it does for those weekend getaways. Yamaha kept the design clean and stylish, capturing that old-school charm in a smaller, more manageable package.

Under the hood, you get the same 155cc liquid-cooled, four-valve single-cylinder engine as the MT-15. With Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), it puts out 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm of torque. The six-speed gearbox comes with an assist-and-slipper clutch, making gear shifts smoother than you’d expect in this segment. Dual-channel ABS and traction control come standard, so you get a confidence boost on all kinds of roads.

The XSR155 sits on a Deltabox frame, supported by upside-down front forks and a linked-type rear monoshock. That setup gives you a balanced, comfortable ride. Yamaha also went with an aluminium swingarm to keep the weight down and the handling sharp. The 17-inch alloy wheels, fitted with road-friendly tyres, make this bike just right for zipping through city streets or heading out for light touring.

You get four colour choices: Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic, and Metallic Blue. Yamaha also offers two accessory kits. The Scrambler Kit gives the bike a taller, more rugged stance with a few protective touches, while the Café Racer Kit sharpens up the look with a unique seat and some cool styling bits.

Bottom line: with its strong engine, premium parts, and polished design, the Yamaha XSR155 really makes a mark in the 150 – 160cc space. It goes up against bikes like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Honda CB300RS, aiming at riders who want that retro look in a lighter, more compact package.
