Bajaj Auto has launched the updated 2026 Bajaj Dominar 400 in India at a starting price of ₹2.03 lakh (ex-showroom). One of the biggest highlights of this update is the price reduction of ₹37,000, making the motorcycle more accessible to buyers.
The major change comes under the engine. The new Dominar 400 now uses a 349.13cc engine instead of the earlier 373cc unit. This change has been made mainly to bring the bike under the lower 18 per cent GST slab, which applies to motorcycles below 350cc. Despite the smaller engine, the power output has slightly increased to 40.04bhp, although it now comes at a higher RPM of 9,000.
Torque figures have seen a minor drop, with the bike now producing 33.2Nm, which is 1.8Nm less than before. However, the torque arrives earlier in the rev range, which could help in better rideability in city conditions.
Apart from the engine update, the motorcycle remains largely unchanged. It continues to use a perimeter frame and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. The suspension setup includes USD front forks and a rear monoshock, offering a balanced ride. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS for added safety.
The fuel tank capacity remains at 13 litres, while the kerb weight has been reduced by 3kg, bringing it down to 190kg. The bike is available in two colour options – black and green.
Overall, the 2026 Bajaj Dominar 400 offers a mix of performance and better pricing, making it a practical choice in its segment.
