The all-electric Bajaj Chetak, the modern zero-emission avatar of the iconic ICE scooter, has achieved a landmark sales milestone in India. Since its launch in January 2020, the Chetak has clocked 5.1 lakh cumulative wholesales (510,007 units) till the end of August 2025, according to SIAM data.

Rapid Sales Growth in Recent Years

The Chetak’s momentum has surged in the past two years:

  • FY2024: 1,15,702 units dispatched
  • FY2025: 2,60,033 units dispatched (up 125% YoY) – best ever fiscal performance
  • FY2026 (Apr–Aug): 88,916 units dispatched (up 7% YoY)

Between April 2024 and August 2025, Bajaj dispatched 3,48,251 units, which is 68% of total sales to date.

Faster Milestone Achievement

  • 1 lakh milestone: November 2023 (46 months since launch)
  • Next 2 lakh units: achieved in just 12 months (Nov 2023 – Nov 2024)
  • Latest 2 lakh units: sold in a record 10 months (Nov 2024 – Aug 2025)

October 2024 remains the best-ever month, with 30,644 units dispatched.
