Ducati Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP Unveiled at EICMA 2025

Ducati has shown the new Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP at the EICMA 2025 motorcycle show. This is the fourth generation of the Hypermotard and also marks 20 years since the first model was revealed. The new bikes are lighter, more powerful, and packed with modern features.

Engine and Performance

The Ducati Hypermotard V2 uses the new 890cc L-twin engine that makes 120hp and 94Nm of torque. That’s a small increase in power compared to the older model. Ducati says most of the torque is available from low revs, which should make the bike quick and fun to ride. The engine comes with a six-speed gearbox and a two-way quickshifter for smooth gear changes.

The bike now has a monocoque chassis and a double-sided swingarm for the first time. Ducati has managed to reduce weight by 13kg on the standard model and 16kg on the SP variant. The seat height is tall at 880mm, but riders can choose a lower seat and suspension kit that drops it by 30mm.

Suspension and Brakes

The standard Hypermotard V2 gets a 46mm Kayaba USD fork and a monoshock. The SP version uses premium 48mm Ohlins suspension that can be fully adjusted. Both bikes come with strong Brembo brakes and 17-inch wheels, but the SP has lighter forged aluminium rims.

Tyres are different too – the standard model comes with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, while the SP gets grippier Rosso IV Corsa ones. Riders can also fit a wider 190 section rear tyre if they plan to use the bike on a track.

Features and Design

The new Hypermotard V2 includes all the latest Ducati electronics powered by a 6-axis IMU. It offers cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and engine brake control. There are four riding modes – Race, Sport, Road, and Wet – and a new 5-inch TFT display.

The design now looks sharper with a new LED headlight and a tail inspired by the Streetfighter V4. The standard version is painted in Ducati Red, while the SP wears a special white livery with a red “20 graphic to celebrate the Hypermotard’s 20th anniversary.

The Ducati Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP have been revealed globally, but Ducati has not yet announced when they will be launched in India.
