JSW MG Motor India is gearing up to raise prices across all its models starting January 1, 2026. They're calling it a uniform hike-up to 2 percent-blaming rising input costs and bigger economic pressures. But, as usual, the actual increase depends on which model and variant you pick.
MG says they need to do this to cover higher production and operational costs that have piled up recently. Sure, 2 percent doesn’t sound huge, but it still adds up, especially if you’re eyeing one of the pricier models.
Take the Windsor EV, for example. It’s MG’s top-selling electric car, and its price is set to jump by about Rs 30,000 to Rs 37,000. After the hike, you’re looking at an ex-showroom price starting around Rs 14.27 lakh and stretching up to roughly Rs 18.76 lakh for the higher trims. The Windsor EV has been a solid performer for MG, thanks to its blend of range, features, and everyday practicality in the booming EV market.
On the other end, the Comet EV-MG’s most budget-friendly model-gets a smaller bump. Expect the price of this compact electric to go up by Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. That pushes its ex-showroom price into the Rs 7.64 lakh to Rs 10.19 lakh range. Still, the Comet keeps drawing city buyers who want a nimble, electric runabout.
Meanwhile, MG has also given the Hector, their popular midsize SUV, a fresh update. The facelift brings a new front grille, fresh alloy wheels, and some updated interior colors. The feature list is long: a big 14-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, swipe gesture controls, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and ventilated, powered front seats.
The updated Hector now starts at Rs 11.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.99 lakh. The seven-seater Hector Plus sits between Rs 17.29 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh. MG says they’ll announce prices for the diesel versions and the six-seater Hector in 2026.
MG isn’t the only one hiking prices. Mercedes-Benz and BYD are also set to raise theirs in January 2026, blaming currency swings and rising running costs. So, if you’re thinking about buying, it’s probably worth factoring these hikes into your plans.
