Kia has expanded its electric performance range by unveiling GT versions of the EV3, EV4 and EV5 at the Brussels Motor Show. These new GT models bring more power, all-wheel drive and several performance-focused upgrades to Kia’s growing EV portfolio, which already includes the EV6 GT and EV9 GT. The aim is to offer electric cars that are not only quick in a straight line but also more engaging to drive.
Kia EV3 GT and EV4 GT: power and performance upgrades
The EV3 GT and EV4 GT are built on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform and use the same 81.2kWh battery pack as their long-range counterparts. Both models get a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, with the front motor producing 197hp and the rear motor 95hp. Combined, the system delivers 292hp. According to Kia, the EV3 GT can sprint from 0–100kph in 5.7 seconds, while the EV4 GT does the same in 5.6 seconds.
In addition to the power bump, Kia has worked on the driving dynamics. Both GT models feature bespoke chassis tuning, electronically adjustable dampers and improvements in cornering stability. They also ride on 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tyres. A simulated gearshift function, similar to the one seen on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, is included, along with a dedicated GT drive mode that sharpens steering response, suspension behaviour and power delivery.
Interior updates for EV3 GT and EV4 GT
Inside, the EV3 GT and EV4 GT get a sportier treatment compared to the standard versions. Highlights include bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the EV6 GT and subtle neon-green accents that mark them out as performance models.
Kia EV5 GT: the performance SUV
The EV5 GT sits at the top of the trio as a more performance-focused SUV. It uses a dual-motor setup producing 298hp, which is 83hp more than the standard EV5. Kia claims a 0–100kph time of 6.2 seconds. While the battery capacity has not been officially confirmed, it is expected to use the 88.1kWh pack from the regular EV5.
The EV5 GT also benefits from customised chassis tuning, performance tyres and electrically adjustable dampers with a road preview system that adapts the suspension to upcoming road conditions. The interior mirrors the GT theme with sportier seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, neon-green accents and ambient lighting.
Production and market plans
Production of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with Europe being the first market. An India launch has not been confirmed yet, although Kia’s recent trademark filings suggest the brand is keeping its options open for the future.
