Mahindra has been spotted testing the Vision S, and the latest spy shots give a clearer idea of what to expect from this upcoming SUV. From its proportions and design cues, it is becoming increasingly evident that the production version of the Mahindra Vision S will take inspiration from the Scorpio N, positioning itself as a smaller, more compact alternative. The new model is expected to be launched around 2027 as part of Mahindra’s aggressive future product lineup.
The test mule shows an upright stance with square-edged styling, a design language that has become closely associated with the Scorpio nameplate. Elements such as pop-out door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels, and a tall roofline further strengthen the Scorpio-like identity. Interestingly, the prototype also features a rear-mounted spare wheel, a detail that adds to its rugged SUV appeal and hints at its lifestyle-oriented positioning.
First revealed on 15 August, the Vision S is one of four future concepts showcased by Mahindra. The brand plans to offer it in both compact and sub-compact SUV forms, allowing it to sit below the Scorpio N while still retaining its core DNA. Unlike the current Scorpio, the Vision S is expected to move away from a traditional body-on-frame platform and adopt a monocoque chassis, aligning it with modern safety and efficiency standards.

Despite the platform shift, Mahindra is likely to retain the iconic Scorpio-inspired character, ensuring familiarity for existing customers while appealing to a new generation of buyers. The Vision S will also be joined by other upcoming models like the Vision T, Vision SXT, and Vision X, which will pave the way for the next-generation Mahindra Thar, Thar pickup, and XUV3XO.
With its compact size, modern underpinnings, and familiar styling, the Mahindra Vision S SUV could play a key role in strengthening the brand’s presence in the evolving Indian SUV market.
