Nissan Gravite Nameplate Confirmed for Upcoming Compact MPV in India

Nissan has officially confirmed the Gravite nameplate for its upcoming compact MPV, marking an important step in the brand’s renewed focus on the Indian market. The new three-row MPV is scheduled to make its public debut in January 2026, with showroom deliveries expected to begin by March 2026.

The Nissan Gravite is based on the Renault Triber, which means it sits on the same CMF-A+ platform. As a result, the MPV is expected to share its mechanicals with the Triber as well. In Nissan’s line-up, the Gravite will be positioned below the Magnite, catering to buyers looking for an affordable and practical seven-seater with a compact footprint.

In terms of design, teaser images released at Nissan’s recent brand event give a clear idea of what to expect. The Gravite retains the Triber’s familiar proportions and tall stance but adds Nissan-specific styling updates to differentiate itself. Up front, the MPV features a redesigned grille and bumper, giving it a sharper and more upright face. The headlamp housings appear similar in shape to the Triber’s but feature updated lighting elements for a distinct identity.

Along the sides, new alloy wheel designs add a fresh touch, while the overall silhouette remains unchanged. At the rear, the Gravite gets a revised bumper and updated tail-lamp signatures. The Gravite name is spelled out clearly on the tailgate, reinforcing its standalone identity within Nissan’s range. Like the Triber, the MPV stays under the sub-4-metre length, which should help keep costs competitive.

Once launched, the Nissan Gravite will rival the Renault Triber directly, targeting families and fleet buyers who want a budget-friendly, space-efficient MPV. More details on features and pricing are expected closer to its launch early next year.
