Skoda India has once again teased the upcoming Kushaq facelift, confirming a handful of visual updates and feature upgrades. Set for a mid-life refresh of the SUV that debuted in 2021, the updated Kushaq will continue to take on popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara and more.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift: Key Highlights
Minor exterior changes expected at the front and rear
Panoramic sunroof & Level 2 ADAS likely to be added
1.0 TSI may get a new 8-speed automatic later
Exterior Changes: Connected Lighting & Updated Rear Branding
The new teaser hints that Skoda is focusing on subtle but modern styling touches. The headlights and DRLs are expected to be revised, with connected lighting elements bridging both sides for a more premium look.
Other noticeable updates include:
Reworked grille and bumper design
Angular silver trim on the front bumper
Illuminated ‘SKODA’ wordmark at the rear (replacing the standard badge style)
This new lighting signature should make the facelift look sharper and more “European” compared to the current model.
Interior Updates: Panoramic Sunroof & Possible Rear Seat Massage
While the cabin isn’t officially revealed yet, reports and spy images suggest that Skoda will boost the Kushaq’s equipment list to stay competitive.
Expected feature additions include:
Panoramic sunroof on higher variants
Rear-seat massage function (could be a segment-first)
Updated digital instrument cluster graphics
Refreshed infotainment interface
Rear disc brakes likely for 1.5 TSI variants
Improved air-conditioning performance with system updates
ADAS & Safety: Level 2 Suite Likely, 360° Camera Expected
Skoda has already hinted that Level 2 ADAS will be introduced gradually across facelifted models based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. With most competitors now offering driver-assist tech, the Kushaq facelift is expected to follow the trend.
Likely safety and tech additions:
Level 2 ADAS package
360-degree camera
Enhanced active safety features on top trims
Engines & Gearboxes: Same Powertrains, 8-Speed Automatic Could Come Later
Mechanically, the facelifted Kushaq is expected to retain the same turbo-petrol options:
Expected engine lineup:
1.0L TSI – 115hp, 178Nm
1.5L TSI – 150hp, 250Nm
Gearbox options at launch:
1.0 TSI: 6-speed manual / 6-speed torque converter AT
1.5 TSI: 6-speed manual / 7-speed DSG
However, Skoda may introduce a new localised 8-speed torque converter automatic for the 1.0 TSI at a later stage. This could improve:
Fuel efficiency (better gear spacing)
Driving smoothness (cleaner shifts)
Compliance with upcoming CAFE 3 norms
