Volvo has unveiled its new EX60, a mid-size luxury electric SUV aimed at the European market. Built on the brand’s dedicated SPA3 EV platform, the EX60 is the electric version of the popular XC60. While it will launch in Europe first, Volvo plans to bring the model to the US market later this year.
One of the key highlights of the EX60 is its impressive driving range. Depending on the variant, Volvo claims it can cover up to 810 km on a single charge. Buyers can choose from three battery options: 83 kWh, 95 kWh, and 117 kWh.
The EX60’s exterior is sleek and modern, taking design cues from the smaller EX30. At the front, it features split headlamps with Volvo’s signature Thor’s hammer LED daytime running lights and a closed-off grille. The side profile is smooth, with subtle character lines, black cladding, and illuminated wing grip door handles. Wheels range from 20 to 22 inches, with the rear wheels slightly wider for better traction. At the back, slim LED tail-lights, black cladding, and silver accents complete the look. Volvo also offers a cross-country variant with 20mm higher ground clearance, off-road suspension, stainless steel skid plates, and unique interior and exterior styling.
Inside, the EX60 features a dual-tone layered cabin with a 15-inch Android-based infotainment system and an 11.4-inch digital driver display. It offers heated and ventilated front seats, a 21-speaker Bose audio system (upgradable to 28 speakers), Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, and Google Gemini AI assistant. There’s plenty of storage space, a powered driver seat with memory, and reclining rear seats for added comfort. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and over-the-air updates ensure the SUV stays current.
With its combination of long range, strong performance, and premium features, the Volvo EX60 is set to compete with rivals like the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ. While there’s no confirmation for an India launch yet, the EX60 showcases Volvo’s growing focus on electric vehicles globally.
