BMW Motorrad has launched the 2026 version of the BMW M 1000 R in India at a price of Rs. 33.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The performance-focused streetfighter arrives in India through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route and receives a few styling updates along with improvements in its electronics package.
One of the most noticeable updates on the new M 1000 R is the dual-flow LED headlight setup, which gives the bike a sharper and more aggressive appearance. The motorcycle also features the signature BMW M winglets, which are designed to improve aerodynamic performance. According to BMW, these winglets can increase front wheel load by up to 11 kg at speeds of 220 km/h, helping improve stability during high-speed riding.
The BMW M 1000 R is available in three colour options. The Light White/M Motorsport colour is offered only on the base variant, while White Aluminium Metallic Matte is available on both the standard version and the M Competition Package. The Blackstorm Metallic/M Motorsport colour scheme is exclusive to the Competition variant.
BMW has also introduced electronic upgrades to enhance the riding experience. The bike now features an updated Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) system derived from BMW’s RR superbike models. This upgrade is expected to offer more precise traction control, especially when riding in Race mode. Another addition is the M quick-action throttle, which allows riders to achieve full throttle more easily without excessive wrist movement.
The M Competition Package has also been expanded. It now includes M Carbon wheels, carbon fibre body panels, adjustable milled rearset footrests, an M GPS Laptimer, and other lightweight components.
With these updates, the BMW M 1000 R continues to target riders looking for track-level performance in a naked motorcycle. Pre-bookings for the bike have already started across BMW Motorrad dealerships in India, and deliveries are expected to begin from May 2026.
The M 1000 R competes with other high-performance naked motorcycles such as the Ducati Streetfighter V4 and the Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory.
