Hyundai has revised the i20 hatchback’s variant lineup by bringing back the Era trim, making the car more accessible for buyers. With this update, the entry price of the Hyundai i20 now starts at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is around Rs 74,000 lower than before. Along with the new base variant, Hyundai has also reduced prices of the mid-level Magna Executive and Magna trims.
Both the Magna Executive and Magna variants now cost Rs 13,000 less than earlier. However, there are no feature updates on these trims. The main focus of this refresh is clearly to improve value and attract more buyers in the competitive premium hatchback segment.
Hyundai i20 old vs new prices
Hyundai i20 Trim | Old Price (Rs lakh) | New Price (Rs lakh) | Difference |

Era MT | – | 5.99 | New trim |

Hyundai is also offering a larger infotainment system as an optional dealer-level fitment. For an additional Rs 15,000, buyers can get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a rear-view camera. This setup comes with a 3-year warranty.
In terms of features, the new Era trim gets six airbags as standard, a digital instrument cluster, front and rear skid plates, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, a Type-C charging port, and telescopic steering adjustment. No new features have been added to the existing Magna Executive and Magna trims.
Powering the Hyundai i20 is the familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine, producing 83hp and 115Nm of torque with the manual gearbox, and 88hp with the CVT. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
The i20 continues to compete with the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz. With the lower starting price, Hyundai has made the i20 a more attractive option in its segment.
