Kia has confirmed that its smallest electric SUV, the Kia EV2, will make its global debut at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show on January 9. The EV2 has already gathered attention after the EV2 Concept was showcased earlier this year, and the production model seems to stay true to that design. Since Kia trademarked the EV2 name in India back in 2023, there’s a good chance this compact EV could head to our market as well.
Design Highlights
From the teaser images, the Kia EV2 appears almost identical to the concept. The front gets vertically stacked LED headlights along with a muscular-looking skid plate and chunky lower cladding. Kia seems to be sticking with a clean, upright shape, which gives the EV2 a more practical and city-friendly appearance.
The side profile teaser shows boxy proportions and a rising window line, though details remain limited. At the rear, the low-positioned LED tail-lamps resemble those seen on the Kia Syros. A roof spoiler, slightly slanted rear glass, and thick cladding further add to its crossover stance.
Battery, Platform and Range
Kia hasn’t shared technical details yet, but the EV2 is expected to be built on Hyundai’s 400V E-GMP skateboard platform, the same architecture used in the Hyundai Inster. The Inster offers 42kWh and 49kWh battery options, so the EV2 will likely follow a similar approach.
The EV2 will use a single front-mounted motor, with power figures still under wraps. As for driving range, early expectations suggest around 350–400km, which would make it suitable for both daily commutes and weekend drives.
With its compact size, practical design, and competitive range, the Kia EV2 could become an important model for the brand, especially in cost-sensitive markets like India.
