Mahindra XUV700 Facelift May Debut as the New XUV 7XO

Mahindra is gearing up to launch a major update for its popular SUV, the XUV700. Recent reports and a new trademark filing suggest that the facelifted version will be introduced as the Mahindra XUV 7XO, following the company’s latest naming strategy similar to the recent XUV 3XO. The new name reflects a more modern and refreshed identity for the SUV.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO has been spotted multiple times during test runs, always heavily camouflaged, but some design changes are evident. The front end is set to feature a more upright grille with updated multi-slat detailing, alongside redesigned LED projector headlamps and a revised bumper for a sleeker, more contemporary appearance. Updates are also expected at the rear, including new alloy wheels, redesigned tail-lamps, and tweaks to the bumper, while the overall silhouette remains familiar.

Inside, Mahindra is making significant upgrades. Spy images reveal a wide triple-screen layout across the dashboard, promising a significantly enhanced digital interface. The cabin is likely to gain premium features such as massaging front seats, a sliding second row, advanced ambient lighting, and a new Harman Kardon audio system, all aimed at boosting comfort and luxury.

Mechanically, the XUV 7XO will retain the current engine options: the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel, both paired with manual and automatic transmissions. The all-wheel drive setup will continue to be available on select diesel automatic variants.

Mahindra is targeting an early 2026 launch for the XUV 7XO, with a modest price increase over the outgoing model. Once launched, it will compete directly with rivals like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
