Maruti Suzuki is recalling 39,506 Grand Vitara SUVs in India because of a problem with the fuel level indicator. The affected cars rolled out between December 9, 2024, and April 29, 2025.
Here’s what’s going on: The company spotted a glitch in the speedometer’s fuel gauge and warning light. For some drivers, the system doesn’t always show the right fuel status. So, they’re calling these cars back for a check and a fix.
If your car’s on the list, Maruti Suzuki’s authorized dealers will reach out to you directly. They’ll inspect your car and swap out the faulty part for free.
Right now, the Grand Vitara starts at Rs. 10.76 lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.72 lakh, ex-showroom. It comes in three powertrain options and goes up against rivals like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
