New Kia Seltos Production Begins in India, Prices to Be Announced on January 2, 2026

Production of the all-new Kia Seltos has officially commenced at the brand’s Anantapur manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. The first unit rolled off the assembly line in the presence of Gwanggu Lee, MD & CEO, Kia India, along with the company’s senior leadership team.

Kia has confirmed that prices for the new-generation Seltos will be revealed on January 2, 2026, setting the stage for one of the most important SUV launches of the new year.

Bigger Dimensions, Stronger Road Presence

The latest Seltos has grown in size and is now being positioned as the longest SUV in its segment. It measures 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, while the wheelbase has been stretched to 2,690 mm. These changes are expected to translate into improved cabin space, better rear-seat comfort and enhanced high-speed stability.

Styling follows Kia’s latest ‘Opposites United’ design language. Key exterior highlights include:

  • Digital Tiger Face grille

  • Ice Cube LED projection headlamps with dynamic welcome lighting

  • Flush-type automatic door handles

  • New alloy wheel designs, with neon brake calipers on sportier trims

Together, these updates give the SUV a noticeably bolder and more premium visual identity.

Cabin and Technology: Big Screens, Connected Experience

Inside, the new Seltos makes a strong tech statement. The dashboard is dominated by a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display, which combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system into a single seamless layout. Audio duties are handled by a Bose 8-speaker sound system, tuned specifically for the cabin.

Other notable technology features include:

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • Kia Connect 2.0 with connected car features

  • Over-the-air (OTA) updates

  • Kia Connect Diagnosis for vehicle health monitoring

  • Smart Key Proximity Unlock, a first for the segment

These additions are aimed at making the Seltos one of the most connected and feature-rich midsize SUVs in India.

New K3 Platform: Focus on Refinement and Safety

A major mechanical update for the new Seltos is the move to Kia’s India-first global K3 platform. According to the company, this architecture offers:

  • Higher structural rigidity

  • Improved suspension tuning

  • Reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH)

The result should be a more composed ride on broken roads, better body control and improved overall refinement.

Safety: Level 2 ADAS and 24 Standard Features

Safety has been given a significant push. Kia is offering a 24-feature standard safety package, complemented by a Level 2 ADAS suite with 21 autonomous functions. These systems are designed to enhance safety in both city traffic and highway driving, keeping the Seltos competitive with newer rivals in the segment.

Engines, Gearboxes and Variants

The new Seltos will be offered with three engine options:

  • 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115 PS, 144 Nm)

  • 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (160 PS, 253 Nm)

  • 1.5-litre CRDi diesel (116 PS, 250 Nm)

Transmission choices include 6-speed manual, iMT, IVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed automatic, depending on the variant.

The confirmed trim lineup includes HTE, HTK, HTX and GTX, along with option variants such as HTE(O), HTK(O), HTX(A) and GTX(A). Buyers looking for a sportier appearance can opt for the X-Line styling pack, available exclusively on GTX and GTX(A) trims. Additional add-on packages for convenience, premium features and ADAS will also be offered.

What This Means for Buyers

With production now underway at the Anantapur plant, Kia says it is well prepared to manage demand and minimise waiting periods once deliveries begin. The all-new Seltos represents a key pillar of Kia’s SUV strategy for 2026, aiming to build on the model’s strong legacy with a bigger footprint, more technology and a stronger focus on safety.

As the price announcement approaches, the new Seltos is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched SUV launches in the Indian market.
