Renault India is all set to bring back one of its most recognisable SUVs with the unveiling of the new-generation Duster today. The Duster was among the first models to popularise the mid-size SUV segment in India, and its return marks an important moment for the brand. With this new version, Renault is aiming to re-establish its presence in a segment that has grown more competitive over the years.
Updated Exterior Design
The India-spec Renault Duster will get several design updates to distinguish it from the global model. At the front, the SUV is expected to feature new LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators, along with redesigned bumpers. It will also come with roof rails and a fresh set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the Duster will sport a full-width LED light bar, along with a rear wiper and washer, adding a mix of style and everyday usability.
More Modern Interior
Inside, the 2026 Renault Duster is expected to offer a more modern and feature-rich cabin. Key highlights may include a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a compact gear lever. Other expected features include a wireless charger, dual-tone interior theme, tri-arrow design AC vents, a 360-degree camera, an electric parking brake, and an electric sunroof. These updates should help the Duster match current segment standards.
Rivals and What’s Next
Renault has not yet revealed the engine and gearbox details of the new Duster. Once launched, it will compete with SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq facelift, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and Maruti Victoris. The same platform will also be used for a Nissan SUV, currently known as the Tekton, which will be introduced later.
