Hero Vida has expanded its electric portfolio with the launch of the Vida DIRT.E K3 electric youth motorcycle, priced at an introductory Rs 69,990. This is Vida’s first off-road motorcycle and is aimed squarely at young riders between the ages of 4 and 10. The idea is simple: introduce children to motorcycling in a safe, controlled and confidence-building way before they move on to bigger bikes.
At the heart of the Vida DIRT.E K3 is a 500W peak-power electric motor, which allows the bike to reach a top speed of up to 25kph. To keep things beginner-friendly, the motorcycle comes with three ride modes – Beginner, Amateur and Pro – with speed limits capped at 8kph, 16kph and 25kph respectively. Parents can manage these settings through a dedicated app, where they can also lock specific modes and monitor riding sessions.
One of the highlights of the Vida DIRT.E K3 electric motorcycle is its size-adaptive design. The bike features a three-stage adjustable system that lets parents switch between small, medium and large configurations using a simple Allen key. This adjusts both the seat height and wheelbase, allowing the motorcycle to grow with the child instead of being quickly outgrown. Optional front and rear suspension upgrades are also available as the rider’s skills improve.
The removable battery takes around three hours for a full charge and offers up to three hours of run time, depending on usage and terrain. Safety has been given due importance, with features such as reinforced wiring, child-sized brake levers, energy-absorbing materials and an emergency cutoff tether that shuts off the motor in case of a fall.
Manufactured at Vida’s Tirupati plant in Andhra Pradesh, the Vida DIRT.E K3 will initially be delivered in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur and Calicut.
