2025 Suzuki Alto Unveiled: New Design, Enhanced Safety Features, and Best-in-Class Fuel Efficiency
The popular Suzuki Alto, a well-loved Kei car in Japan, has received a midlife update for 2025, featuring design tweaks, improved safety features, and outstanding fuel efficiency. Among the updates, the Alto now boasts a fresh Terracotta Pink monotone color, as well as dual-tone options like Phoenix Red Pearl and Nocturne Blue Pearl with a black roof, or Chiffon Ivory and Foggy Blue Pearl with a soft beige roof.
The 2025 Alto lineup consists of four variants – A, L, Hybrid S, and Hybrid X – with prices ranging from ¥1,142,900 to ¥1,639,000.
Design Updates:
On the exterior, the updated Alto showcases a newly redesigned grille with chrome accents and a black trim that cradles a newly integrated radar module. The lower grille has been enlarged, while both the front and rear bumpers have been subtly redesigned for a more modern look.
Enhanced Safety Features:
The new radar module enables the Dual Sensor Brake Support II system for advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Additional safety features now come as standard, including lane departure prevention, low-speed brake support (for both forward and reverse), departure notification alerts, and parking sensors. The 2025 Alto is also available with an optional 7-inch infotainment system, which supports Suzuki Connect telematics for improved connectivity. The cabin, however, remains unchanged with no revisions to the dashboard, center console, or seating arrangements.

Powertrain and Performance:
The 2025 Alto is available with two engine options:
- 658cc Naturally Aspirated Petrol:
- Power: 46bhp @ 6,500rpm
- Torque: 55Nm @ 4,000rpm
- 658cc Petrol Mild Hybrid:
- Power: 48bhp @ 6,500rpm
- Torque: 58Nm @ 5,000rpm
Both engines are paired with a CVT gearbox and offer Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations.
Fuel Efficiency:
The 2025 Suzuki Alto shines in the fuel efficiency department, with Suzuki claiming a class-leading 28.2 kmpl for the hybrid FWD variant on the WLTC cycle. This impressive mileage further cements the Alto’s reputation as an economical city car.
In summary, the 2025 Suzuki Alto blends updated styling with advanced safety features and best-in-class fuel efficiency, making it an even more compelling choice for urban drivers in Japan.
