2026 Hyundai Verna launched at Rs 10.98 lakh with new features and updates

Hyundai Verna has received a fresh update for 2026, with prices starting at Rs 10.98 lakh and going up to Rs 18.25 lakh (ex-showroom). With this update, Hyundai Motor India has introduced a few design changes, added new features and revised the variant naming. The updated sedan continues to compete with rivals such as the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia.

One of the key updates is the new variant naming structure. The Verna now follows a format similar to the Hyundai Venue, with variants called HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8 and HX10. This makes the lineup simpler and more consistent with Hyundai’s other models in India.

On the outside, the 2026 Verna gets a few styling tweaks. The front now features a new black chrome grille along with a projector setup for the LED headlights. The bumpers have been slightly redesigned, and the sedan now comes with updated 16-inch alloy wheels. Hyundai has also introduced two new exterior colour options called Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte, giving buyers a couple of fresh choices.

Inside the cabin, the Verna receives some useful upgrades. One of the highlights is the Boss mode function for the front passenger seat, which allows the rear passenger to adjust the seat for more legroom. This feature is not offered by its main competitors in the segment. The driver’s seat now gets a memory function, while the front passenger seat comes with powered adjustment. Hyundai has also added a new steering wheel with the brand’s ‘H’ logo in Morse code, a design detail also seen on models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The dual 10.25-inch touchscreen and digital driver display continue unchanged, offering connectivity and infotainment features that were already available in the previous version.

Safety has also been improved in the updated model. The top variant now gets seven airbags, which Hyundai claims is a segment first, while the other variants come with six airbags as standard. Features like a 360-degree camera and a built-in dashcam are also available in higher trims.

Under the hood, the Verna continues with the same engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115hp and 144Nm, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 160hp and 253Nm. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the naturally aspirated unit also offers a CVT automatic and the turbo engine gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission option.

With these updates, the base variant is now Rs 18,000 more expensive, while the top variant sees a price increase of around Rs 1.1 lakh.
