October 2025 was a huge month for electric two-wheelers in India. If you look at the Vahan portal data, over 1.43 lakh electric scooters and bikes hit the roads last month. That’s about 4,600 every single day – pretty wild, right? Clearly, people are jumping on the EV wave.
Bajaj Chetak Back on Top
Here’s the big news: Bajaj Auto is back on top. The Bajaj Chetak sold 31,168 units in October, beating TVS Motor by 1,684 scooters. That’s a solid 10% jump from last year, and it shows Bajaj’s plan is working. Their previous record was in March 2025 with more than 35,000 sold, so they’re still playing in the big leagues.
TVS Motor Drops to Second
TVS Motor had been leading for half a year, but October was rough. They sold 29,484 units, and most of the trouble came from production hiccups – rare earth magnets for the iQube scooter were hard to get. Even so, TVS just rolled out the new TVS Orbiter at Rs 99,900. Production should get back on track soon, so don’t count them out just yet.
Ather Energy Closes the Gap
Ather Energy is on a roll. They sold 28,061 units – that’s a huge 73% jump compared to last year. This is their best month ever, thanks mostly to the Rizta electric scooter catching on. With the numbers so close between Ather, Bajaj, and TVS, things are about to get really interesting.
Ola Electric Slips, Hero Vida Surges
Ola Electric, which used to lead the pack, saw sales drop to 16,034 units. That’s a sharp 62% drop from last year. On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand is picking up speed with 15,934 units sold – a massive 117% jump, powered by their new Vida VX2 model.
Greaves Electric Mobility Keeps Climbing
Greaves Electric Mobility (Ampere) rounds out the top six with 7,629 units. That’s a strong 91% growth over last year.
With the festival season and more choices than ever, people are snapping up electric scooters across India. Even though GST 2.0 made petrol bikes cheaper, scooters like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ather Rizta keep winning buyers over.
