Maruti Fronx Facelift, Flex-Fuel Model India Launch 2026

Maruti Suzuki has big plans for its compact SUV, the Fronx. Pretty soon, they’re rolling out not one but two new versions for India: the Fronx facelift and the Fronx Flex Fuel. Both are set to hit the market by 2026.

Let’s start with the facelift. This one’s going to show off Maruti’s latest homegrown series hybrid powertrain. Here’s how it works: the petrol engine doesn’t drive the wheels directly. Instead, it acts more like a generator, making electricity for the electric motor. The setup uses a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine paired with a small battery pack, somewhere between 1.5kWh and 2kWh.

The result? Maruti claims you’ll get 35 to 40 km per litre, which would make it one of the most fuel-efficient compact SUVs you can buy in India. On top of the new engine, the Fronx facelift is bringing in features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and autonomous emergency braking. Expect some changes to the exterior, too, plus a refreshed cabin with better materials and the latest tech. They’re clearly aiming for a more premium feel.

Now, about the Fronx Flex Fuel. Maruti’s working on this FFV model so it can run on petrol blended with anywhere from 20% to 85% ethanol (E20 to E85). That fits right in with India’s move toward cleaner, greener fuels. The flex fuel version won’t look much different from the regular one, except for some green flex fuel stickers and black alloy wheels.

With these two new Fronx models, Maruti Suzuki isn’t just keeping up—they’re pushing ahead with better efficiency, smarter tech, and cars that are ready for the future.
