Upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs by 2026
The company is planning to expand its SUV lineup with three major launches in the coming years:
- Maruti e Vitara (Electric SUV) – Available with 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs, promising a claimed MIDC range of over 500 km. Features will include Level-2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, and split/reclining rear seats.
- Maruti Fronx Strong Hybrid – This will be Maruti’s first cost-effective strong hybrid model, using an in-house hybrid system. The 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine is expected to be hybridized for this mass-market SUV.
- Premium 7-Seater SUV – Over 4.5 metres long, likely based on the Grand Vitara platform, sharing its powertrains and features. This SUV will compete directly with the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and Tata Safari.
With its focus on hybrid and electric mobility, as well as a stronger presence in the SUV segment, Maruti Suzuki aims to maintain its leadership in both domestic and international markets in the coming years.
