MG Motor India has confirmed that its new flagship SUV, the Majestor, will be launched in the country on February 12, 2026. First showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, the full-size SUV has been seen testing on Indian roads multiple times, hinting that it is close to production-ready. Once launched, the Majestor will sit above the Gloster in MG’s India line-up.
The MG Majestor takes strong design inspiration from the Maxus D90 sold in international markets. Up front, it features a large grille with gloss-black detailing that gives it a bold road presence. The vertically stacked LED headlights are paired with slim LED DRLs placed above them. A chunky front bumper with black cladding and silver accents adds to its rugged look.
Along the sides, the SUV gets prominent body cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors. It rides on dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels similar to those on the Gloster. Other highlights include black door handles, black roof rails and connected LED tail-lamps at the rear, along with a black bumper and silver skid plate elements.
While the interior was not displayed at the Auto Expo, spy images suggest that the Majestor’s cabin will be similar to the Maxus D90. Expected features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display and a three-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted gear selector. Given its positioning, it is likely to offer more features than the Gloster.
Powering the MG Majestor is expected to be the same 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine used in the Gloster. This unit produces 216hp and 479Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and 4WD system. Pricing is expected to be higher than the Gloster’s Rs 38.33 lakh to Rs 42.49 lakh range, placing it against rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
