Renault Plans 4 New Mass-Market Cars in India by 2030

Renault has confirmed that it plans to introduce four new models in India by 2030 as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the mass-market segment. The announcement signals the brand’s intention to expand beyond its current limited lineup and compete more actively in the Indian car market.

At present, Renault’s sales in India mainly depend on two models — the Renault Kiger and the Renault Triber. While both products have performed reasonably well, competitors have been introducing more models and expanding their portfolios in recent years. With this new plan, Renault is aiming to refresh its lineup and attract more buyers in the coming decade.

The first of the four upcoming vehicles will be the production version of the Bridger, which is expected to launch in India by the end of 2027. The Bridger will also be the first model developed locally under Renault’s accelerated development programme, where the company aims to complete vehicle development in less than two years. The remaining three models are expected to arrive gradually during the second half of this decade.

Another important part of Renault’s future strategy is platform flexibility. The new vehicles will be built on the company’s modular architecture, which can support multiple powertrain options. This includes traditional petrol engines, hybrid technology, and fully electric powertrains.

This flexible platform will allow Renault to adjust its product strategy depending on market demand, government regulations, and the pace of electrification in India. As the Indian automobile market continues to evolve with increasing demand for feature-rich and electrified vehicles, Renault’s upcoming lineup will play a key role in determining the brand’s future growth in the country.
