BMW India has opened pre-orders for its special 100 Jahre Nürburgring editions, with the biggest highlight being the arrival of the BMW M5 Touring in India for the first time. The anniversary range celebrates 100 years of the Nürburgring and includes special versions of the M2, M3 Competition, M4 Competition, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring.

Pre-orders are now open through BMW's authorised dealerships, although the company has not yet revealed the prices or the number of units allocated to India. BMW says the editions will be produced in limited numbers.

The special editions get a distinct Nürburgring Green paint option, while Sapphire Black Metallic with green accents is also available. The cars feature anniversary-specific details, including the ‘100 Years’ logo, ‘Nürburgring since 1927’ lettering and graphics inspired by the famous circuit. The cabins feature black upholstery with contrasting stitching, carbon-fibre trim and M Carbon bucket seats on applicable models.

The BMW M5 Touring is the most significant addition for India. It uses the same M HYBRID powertrain as the M5 Sedan, combining a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor. The system produces 727hp and 1,000Nm, with power sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. BMW claims a 0-100kmph time of 3.6 seconds.

The M5 Touring combines the performance of the M5 with the practicality of an estate body style, making it a different proposition from the regular M5 Sedan.

Alongside it, BMW will offer the M2, M3 Competition, M4 Competition and M5 Sedan in the Nürburgring Edition. The anniversary models are part of BMW's wider celebration of its long association with the famous German racetrack.

BMW's first-ever M5 Touring for India is therefore the key attraction, while further details on pricing, deliveries and India-specific allocation are expected to be announced later.
