Ferrari has introduced its latest flagship model, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa, in India. The new supercar replaces the Ferrari SF90 Stradale in the company’s line-up and now stands as Ferrari’s most powerful series-production model. It also rivals the Lamborghini Revuelto in the high-performance hybrid supercar segment.
The 849 Testarossa is priced from Rs 10.37 crore (ex-showroom), excluding optional extras. Ferrari says deliveries in India are expected to begin in the second half of this year.
Powertrain and Performance
The 849 Testarossa comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with three electric motors. Two motors are placed on the front axle, while the third motor sits between the engine and the gearbox.
The V8 engine alone produces 830hp, but with help from the electric motors the total output goes up to 1,050hp. The system also includes a 7.45kWh battery pack, which allows the car to run on electric power alone for up to 25km.
Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Ferrari claims the car can accelerate from 0-100kph in just 2.25 seconds and reach a top speed of 330kph.
Design Highlights
The exterior design mixes modern styling with cues from older Ferrari models. At the front, the car gets L-shaped LED headlamps connected by a black strip. The side profile features a contrasting black roof and A-pillars along with sporty alloy wheels.
At the rear, the 849 Testarossa has a twin-tail design, higher-mounted dual exhausts and an active aerodynamic panel that can generate up to 100kg of additional downforce.
Interior and Features
Inside, the cabin follows a driver-focused layout. A large 16-inch digital driver display handles both vehicle information and infotainment functions. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Ferrari has also replaced the earlier haptic steering controls with physical knobs. The cabin also includes a 7-speaker audio system and a slim 9-inch display for the passenger. Buyers will also be able to choose from several personalisation options for both the interior and exterior.
