Honda Amaze vs Nissan Magnite: which upgrade makes more sense for mixed city–highway use?

I currently drive a Hyundai Grand i10 and want to upgrade to something more fuel-efficient and comfortable. My budget is under ₹10 lakh. Most of my usage is within the city, but I do take occasional long trips of about 400–450km. I’m considering the Honda Amaze and the Nissan Magnite. Which one would be the better overall pick?

For your kind of usage, the Honda Amaze makes for the smoother, more efficient, and easier-to-live-with option. Its petrol engine is refined, the CVT works well in traffic, and ride comfort is a clear step up from the Grand i10. It’s also the more reassuring car for long, continuous highway runs.

Nissan Magnite, on the other hand, is great for those who want an SUV-ish feel and a higher seating position. It’s compact, feature-rich, and ideal for city driving. However, its performance and ride quality aren’t as strong as the Amaze on long-distance journeys.

Since you have a mix of daily city use and occasional 400–450km drives, the Honda Amaze is the safer and more comfortable upgrade overall. The Magnite works well too, but it suits primarily urban use rather than long hauls.
