The new-gen Kia Seltos is about to hit the Indian market on December 10, bringing its biggest update since the SUV first arrived. Kia clearly wants a stronger foothold in the mid-size SUV space, and early teasers point to big changes in design, features, and engine options.
Take a look at the exterior—this Seltos now looks bolder and more upright, ditching the old curves for a boxier vibe. Spy shots show off a bigger squared-off grille, new vertical LED DRLs, sharper bumpers, and fresh alloy wheels. Around back, there’s a big change too: new LED tail-lamps and a redesigned tailgate make the SUV look both tougher and more up-to-date. These tweaks should help it stand out against rivals.
Step inside, and things seem even more new. Kia is expected to give the dashboard a cleaner look with better materials and a larger infotainment screen. The seats promise more comfort, and you can expect smarter tech, expanded ADAS features, and maybe even dual-tone upholstery to round things out.
Under the hood, the new-gen Kia Seltos sticks with the reliable 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The real headline, though, is the strong-hybrid powertrain—spotted in early leaks and possibly making its debut. Manual, iMT, and automatic gearboxes stay in the mix.
Once it launches, the new Seltos will go head-to-head with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and the upcoming Tata Curvv. With its sharper looks and a potential hybrid option, Kia looks ready to shake up the mid-size SUV segment all over again.
