New-Gen Renault Duster Reaches Showrooms Ahead of March Price Announcement

The new-generation Renault Duster has started reaching dealerships across India, even before its official price announcement, which is expected sometime in March. Pre-bookings are already open, and this marks the much-awaited return of the Duster badge to the Indian market. The SUV will compete with popular models from brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Maruti Suzuki in the mid-size segment.

Built on the brand’s latest global platform, the new Duster gets a completely fresh design compared to the older model that was discontinued a few years ago. The front looks more upright and rugged, with a large grille, distinctive Y-shaped LED lighting, and a strong bumper design. Squared wheel arches, roof rails, and chunky cladding add to its SUV character, giving it a more modern and muscular road presence.

Inside the cabin, the improvements are quite noticeable. The dashboard has a layered layout with a large touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless smartphone connectivity. Buyers will also get a fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and connected car technology. Higher variants are expected to include features such as a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which were not available in the previous generation.

In terms of engines, the global version offers multiple petrol options, including a strong hybrid setup and turbo-petrol units with both manual and automatic transmissions. It remains to be seen which combinations will be offered in India at launch.

With units already arriving at showrooms, the official launch now seems very close. If priced competitively, the new Duster could once again become a strong contender in the segment it once dominated.
