Volkswagen has launched the updated Taigun facelift in India, priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Alongside the launch, the company is also offering an assured buyback scheme, promising up to 75 percent of the car’s value after three years or 30,000km.
The facelift brings a mix of small design tweaks, feature additions, and a few important mechanical updates, while continuing with the same overall package.
Under the hood, the Taigun continues with its 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The key update is the addition of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0 TSI engine, aimed at improving smoothness and efficiency. The 1.5 TSI engine continues with the 7-speed DSG option. Volkswagen has also improved fuel efficiency slightly, with claimed mileage going up to nearly 20kpl depending on the variant.
On the outside, the changes are noticeable but not overdone. The front gets updated headlights and bumpers, along with illuminated logos. At the rear, there’s a revised LED light bar with sequential indicators and new alloy wheel designs.
Inside, the layout remains familiar, but feature upgrades make a difference. The Taigun facelift now gets a larger digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, and an updated touchscreen system. Other features like ventilated seats, wireless connectivity, and ambient lighting continue to be offered.
